Recently Carl has taken on a greater role in the conservation world. He aims to not only expand his horizons as a professional guide, but to contribute to saving Africa’s wildlife on a larger scale.

Carl married Montana in 2023 and they live in the lakeside town of Kariba in northern Zimbabwe. Carl splits his time between leading safari tours and managing his family’s tilapia farm. His deep connection to nature manifests through bird photography, fishing, and beekeeping, with a particular focus on conservation efforts around Lake Kariba. He now holds a licence to handle and administer Class A dangerous drugs, necessary for immobilising wildlife when veterinary care or relocation is required.

When not immersed in outdoor pursuits, he maintains an active lifestyle through playing tennis and trail running along the shoreline, where encounters with elephants and hippos are commonplace.
